Focus Bible Church…
…launched on June 28th 2009 in the Welcome Bay School Hall, Tauranga, New Zealand as an independent local church.
We are a less-than-large, multicultural community of believers in Jesus Christ. Each week, we gather for God-centred worship, expressions of faith, and consecutive expository Bible teaching.
Focus Bible Church is more than a community of churchgoers or social Christians. Our goal is not simply to bring unchurched people into church attendance, but to grow in knowing God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and obedience to His Word (Mat 28:19-20; Heb 1:2-3; 1Pe 2:2; 2Pe 3:18).
By God’s grace, we:
- Exist for God’s glory and pleasure (Eph 1:3-14).
- Devote ourselves to making disciples and followers of the Lord Jesus Christ (Mat 28:19-20).
- Offer time, space, and support for people healing from life’s pain, fostering relationships free from religious, organisational, or personal demands.
- Pursue selfless love, strengthening unity and loyalty through biblical principles.
- Welcome questions and seek to provide thoughtful answers.
- Are a diverse Christian family, content to be who God has made us in Christ.
- Are gospel-focused people who intentionally share Jesus Christ with others (Rom 10:13-15).
- Recognise that growth in this environment requires time, selfless love, and patience under the guidance of God’s Word and Spirit (2Co 3:17-18).
